Abbey recently graduated from Belmont University with a degree in Entrepreneurship. As apart of Strings for Hope Abbey’s goal is to expand our brand to its fullest. We couldn’t be more excited to have her a part of our team.
Q: How did you become involved with Strings for Hope?
A: I met Emily at an event at my previous workplace, we got to talking and I got asked to intern. My internship started in January and when I graduated I got to become full time.
Q: Where do you see this company going within the next few years?
A: I would definitely see us expanding. I would love to see us go towards working with musicians and working with the community as sustainability pieces. I'm also excited about the growth of the women we employ and the impact we have.
Q: What big ideas do you have for us?
A: Partnerships, and getting us into venues. New locations for pop-ups to utilize our #followthestrings. Overall the structure so we are a well-oiled machine so as we grow we can sustain growth.
Q: What is one thing you have learned since joining the team?
A: I feel like I'm learning every day something new, especially when it comes to structure and accountability. Not only with myself but employees in general. One thing I've learned its f***ing hard to run a business. A startup is not easy and there is nothing a textbook could have taught me.
Q: What tips do you have for recent graduates when looking for jobs?
A: Don’t be afraid to do a job that you might not have initially thought about. You will always be learning, but also look for a job you can become passionate about. When you take a job you are passionate about it never feels like work.
Q: What is one thing you Strings for Hope has given you?
A: Hope, it's really awesome to be apart of a company that really cares about what they're doing and wanting to make an impact. I'm hopeful for not only my generation but for other businesses to do the same. I think we are setting a new standard for how businesses should be run. It’s cool to be apart of a team that cares about the impact we are making and where we are going.
